Bluework Embroidered Summer Quilt, Circa 1915
This is a bluework embroidered summer quilt, probably made for a boy named, “Jack”. That name is embroidered under the image of a boy in the block in the upper right-hand corner. It is believed that this quilt was made by a woman in Arcade, NY. Circa 1915. Very good condition. The size of this quilt is 60 ½” x 48 ½”. Brick House Antique Center also has a redwork quilt by the same maker with the name of “Katie” embroidered on it. However, that quilt is in poor condition, but is available. Please contact Brick House Antique Center for more information. In the first picture it appears that the blue herringbone stitch is missing around the lower blocks. It is not missing but has been stitched in white thread instead of blue.
