Hanging 9-patch quilt. Circa 1890. This quilt is believed to have been made by a woman in Arcade, NY. Very good condition. Pieced. Handsewn. Grid quilting at approximately 1" apart. This quilt has approximately 2 9-patch squares that have splitting in the red fabrics. The rest of the blocks look good. This is a thin quilt with quilting at approximately 9 stitches per inch. The size of this quilt is approximately 85 3/4" x 84 1/2". The quilt has not been washed. There are some minor age spots and one spot that is a reddish color that is in one of the pictures. I don't think it is blood but it may be or it may be some sort of beverage. It may come out in soaking. Please contact us if you would like more pictures or if you have additional questions.
